The government of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) works with independent auditors to make sure that businesses follow the rules for hiring local workers.
Auditors help businesses:

understand the requirements and make sure they qualify for a certificate.

assist businesses in applying for the certificate from the Secure Local Jobs Code Registrar.

These auditors have demonstrated expertise in auditing, demonstrated knowledge of industrial relations and employment matters, and the ability to undertake specified checks regarding compliance with Code requirements. The Secure Local Jobs Code Branch also work to only approve auditors who have at least 18 months experience and either a bachelor’s degree or a diploma of quality auditing, ISO certification or an ASIC auditing certificate.
